4040 An Act relating to the Oklahoma Historical Society;
4141 amending 53 O.S. 2021, Section 1.4a, which relates to

5454 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5555 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 53 O.S. 2021, Section 1.4a, is
5656 amended to read as follows:
5757 Section 1.4a. A. There is hereby created within the Research
5858 Division of the Oklahoma Historical Society the Office of Tribal
5959 Relations. The Office of Tribal Relation s shall:
6060 1. Gather, preserve, and maintain all records, documents, and
6161 material related to negotiations and agreements between tribal
6262 governments and the state and political subdivisions;
6363 2. Maintain an archive of all compacts and agreements between
6464 tribal governments and the state and political subdivisions; and

9191 3. Organize the compacts, agreements and related documents and
9292 material in a manner on paper or in electronic form that is
9393 accessible to the public.
9494 B. The Office of Tribal Relations is authori zed to consult
9595 sources, including, but not limited to, state agencies and tribal
9696 governments, in order to obtain information necessary to fulfill its
9797 duties set forth in subsection A of this section.
9898 C. The Office of Tribal Relations shall deliver an elec tronic,
9999 updated copy of the material described in paragraph 3 of subsection
100100 A of this section to each member of the Oklahoma Legislature by
101101 December 1 of every even -numbered year. The Office shall deliver a
102102 physical, updated copy of the material described in paragraph 3 of
103103 subsection A of this section to each member of the Oklahoma
104104 Legislature after each gubernatorial election.
105105 D. The Oklahoma Historical Society shall provide suitable
106106 office space for the Office of Tribal Relations.
107107 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
