5457 WHEREAS, the State of Oklahoma has a rich history rooted in
5558 faith, resilience, and a commitment to values that uplift its
5659 people; and
5760 WHEREAS, the acknowledgment of spiritual heritage has long been
5861 a cornerstone of the cultural identity of Oklahomans, reflecting the
5962 beliefs and convictions of many of its citizens; and
6063 WHEREAS, the phrase "Christ the King" represents a declaration
6164 of faith for millions o f Oklahomans and Christians worldwide,
6265 symbolizing the sovereignty of Jesus Christ as a source of hope,
6366 unity, and moral guidance; and

9094 WHEREAS, the Oklahoma State Legislature seeks to affirm the
9195 freedom of its citizens to express their deeply held beliefs,
9296 including freedom of speech without fear of punishment or
9397 retribution, recognizing the importance of religious liberty as
9498 enshrined in both the United States Constitution and the Oklahoma
9599 Constitution; and
96100 WHEREAS, this proclamation serves as an expressio n of gratitude
97101 for the blessings bestowed upon the State of Oklahoma and as a
98102 recognition of the enduring influence of Christian faith in the
99103 lives of its people.
100104 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
101105 OF THE 1ST SESSION OF THE 60TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE, THE SENATE
102106 CONCURRING THEREIN:
103107 THAT the Oklahoma State Legislature hereby proclaims "Christ is
104108 King", recognizing the spiritual significance of this declaration to
105109 many of its citizens and honoring the role of faith in the history
106110 and culture of Oklahoma.
107111 THAT the Oklahoma State Legislature expresses that this
108112 resolution is not intended to establish any religion or infringe
109113 upon the rights of any individual, but rather to celebrate the
110114 voluntary expression of belief that has shaped co mmunities across
111115 the state.
112116 THAT copies of this resolution be distributed to the Governor of
113117 Oklahoma and the President Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma State Senate,
