5252 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE SENATE OF THE
5353 1ST SESSION OF THE 60TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
5454 SECTION 1. The Secretary of State shall refer to the people for
5555 their approval or rejection, as and in the manner provided by law,
5656 the following proposed amendment to Section 1 of Article XXIV of the
5757 Constitution of the State of Oklahoma to read as follows:
5858 Section 1. Any amendment or amendments to this Constitution may
5959 be proposed in either branch of the Legislature, and if the same
6060 shall be agreed to by a majority three-fourths (3/4) of all the
6161 members elected to each of the two (2) houses, s uch proposed
6262 amendment or amendments shall, with the yeas and nays thereon, be
6363 entered in their journals and referred by the Secretary of State to

9090 the people for their approval or rejection, at the next regular
9191 general election, except when the Legislature, by a two -thirds (2/3)
9292 vote of each house, shall order a special election for that purpose.
9393 If a majority of all the electors voting on any proposed amendment
9494 at such election shall vote in favor thereof, it shall thereby
9595 become a part of this Constituti on.
9696 No proposal for the amendment or alteration of this Constitution
9797 which is submitted to the voters shall embrace more than one general
9898 subject and the voters shall vote separately for or against each
9999 proposal submitted; provided, however, that in the submission of
100100 proposals for the amendment of this Constitution by articles, which
101101 embrace one general subject, each proposed article shall be deemed a
102102 single proposal or proposition.
103103 SECTION 2. The Ballot Title for the proposed Constitutiona l
104104 amendment as set forth in SECTION 1 of this resolution shall be in

108108 THE GIST OF THE PROPOSITION IS AS FOLLOWS:
109109 This measure amends the Oklahoma Constitution. It amends
110110 Section 1 of Article 24. This section relates to proposed
111111 amendments to the Oklahoma Constitution if the proposal is
112112 referred to a vote of the people in a measure passed by the
113113 Legislature. This measure would change the number of votes

142142 majority of the members of each chamber of the Legislature to
