A Resolution declaring April 2025 as School Library 
Month. 
 
 
 
 
WHEREAS, school libraries provide access to a wide variety of 
resources and literature, including print and digital materials, 
research databases, and emerging technologies, ensuring all learners 
have the tools to think critically and expand their knowledge; and 
 
WHEREAS, school libraries cultivate a love of reading and 
intellectual exploration by offering engaging materials, inq uiry-
based learning opportunities, and creative experiences that inspire 
curiosity and lifelong learning; and 
 
WHEREAS, school librarians are highly trained professionals with 
advanced degrees and specialized certifications, equipping them to 
support students, educators, and families in effectively navigating 
and utilizing information across diverse formats; and 
 
WHEREAS, school libraries are vital to a quality education, 
serving as essential hubs for literacy, research, and technology 
that empower students with the skills necessary for academic 
success, career readiness, and informed citizenship; and 
 
WHEREAS, recognizing the im portance of school libraries and the 
expertise of certified school librarians is essential to maintaining 
an inclusive, dynamic, an d high quality academic environment 
throughout the State of Oklahoma. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES 
OF THE 1ST SESSION OF THE 60TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE: 
 
THAT the month of April 2025 be declared "School Library Month ".  ENR. H. R. NO. 1019 	Page 2
