AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to water and water rights; defining
term; construing provision; providing for
codification; and providing an effective da te.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1702 of Title 82, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, re ads as follows:
A “basin integrity study ” means a scientific study to determine
sustainable instream flow regimes tailored for certain basins in
certain seasons in this state. Results of such studies shall meet
the demand of consumptive and nonconsumptive uses including, but not
limited to, sustainable growth, water quality, tourism, and
economic, agricultural, environmental, industrial, and municipal
development. A basin integrity study shall not be construed as a
means to revoke private water rights or interfere with senior water
permitting.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
