6565 An Act relating to the practice of osteopathic

7777 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7878 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 624, as
7979 amended by Section 1, Chapter 190, O.S.L. 2024 (59 O.S. Supp. 2024,
8080 Section 624), is amended to read as follows:
8181 Section 624. A. There is hereby re-created the State Board of
8282 Osteopathic Examiners.
8383 B. The State Board of Osteopathic Examiners shall consist of
8484 eight (8) examiners appointed by the Governor, two of whom shall be
8585 lay persons. The remaining examiners shall be regularl y licensed
8686 osteopathic physicians in good standing in this state who have been
8787 so engaged for a period of at least five (5) years immediately prior
8888 to their appointment . The osteopathic physician examiners shall be

140140 appointed by the Governor from a list of not less than six names
141141 submitted to the Governor by the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association
142142 annually, and any present member of the Board of Examiners shall be
143143 appointed to fill out the unexpired term . All appointments made to
144144 the Board shall be for terms of seven (7) years. In the event of a
145145 vacancy brought about for any reason, the Governor shall fill the
146146 post so vacated shall be filled from a list of not less than six
147147 names submitted by the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association . In
148148 selecting appointees, the Governor may consider recommendations from
149149 a statewide organization representing osteopathic physicians, a
150150 state chapter of a national organization representing osteopathic
151151 physicians, or other groups or individuals in this state .
152152 C. The Board shall have and use a common seal, and make and
153153 adopt all necessary rules relating to the enforcement of the
154154 provisions of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Medicine Act. Each Board
155155 member shall receive the daily per diem rate for state employees.
156156 Travel expenses allowed un der the State Travel Reimbursement Act
157157 shall also be provided to Board members traveling more than fifty
158158 (50) miles to the location of all regular and special Board
159159 meetings.
160160 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
