65	65	An Act relating to the practice of osteopathic
66	66	medicine; amending 59 O.S. 2021, Section 624, as
67	67	amended by Section 1, Chapter 190, O.S. L. 2024 (59
68	68	O.S. Supp. 2024, Section 624), which relates to the
69	69	State Board of Osteopathic Examiners; removing
70	70	certain limitation on appointees; permitting the
71	71	Governor to consider certain recommendations; and
72	72	providing an effective date .

77	77	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
78	78	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 624, as
79	79	amended by Section 1, Chapter 190, O.S.L. 2024 (59 O.S. Supp. 2024,
80	80	Section 624), is amended to read as follows:
81	81	Section 624. A. There is hereby re-created the State Board of
82	82	Osteopathic Examiners.
83	83	B. The State Board of Osteopathic Examiners shall consist of
84	84	eight (8) examiners appointed by the Governor, two of whom shall be
85	85	lay persons. The remaining examiners shall be regularl y licensed
86	86	osteopathic physicians in good standing in this state who have been
87	87	so engaged for a period of at least five (5) years immediately prior
88	88	to their appointment . The osteopathic physician examiners shall be

140	140	appointed by the Governor from a list of not less than six names
141	141	submitted to the Governor by the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association
142	142	annually, and any present member of the Board of Examiners shall be
143	143	appointed to fill out the unexpired term . All appointments made to
144	144	the Board shall be for terms of seven (7) years. In the event of a
145	145	vacancy brought about for any reason, the Governor shall fill the
146	146	post so vacated shall be filled from a list of not less than six
147	147	names submitted by the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association . In
148	148	selecting appointees, the Governor may consider recommendations from
149	149	a statewide organization representing osteopathic physicians, a
150	150	state chapter of a national organization representing osteopathic
151	151	physicians, or other groups or individuals in this state .
152	152	C. The Board shall have and use a common seal, and make and
153	153	adopt all necessary rules relating to the enforcement of the
154	154	provisions of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Medicine Act. Each Board
155	155	member shall receive the daily per diem rate for state employees.
156	156	Travel expenses allowed un der the State Travel Reimbursement Act
157	157	shall also be provided to Board members traveling more than fifty
158	158	(50) miles to the location of all regular and special Board
159	159	meetings.
160	160	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
