53 | 79 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE S TATE OF OKLAHOMA: |

54 | 80 | | SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1607, as |
---|
55 | 81 | | amended by Section 1, Chapter 26, O.S.L. 2024 (59 O.S. Supp. 2024, |

56 | 82 | | Section 1607), is amended to read as follows: |

57 | 83 | | Section 1607. A. There is hereby re -created, to continue until |
---|
58 | 84 | | July 1, 2027, in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma |
---|
59 | 85 | | Sunset Law, the Board of Examiners for Speech -Language Pathology and |
---|
60 | 86 | | Audiology whose duty it i s to administer the provisions of the |
---|
61 | 87 | | Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology L icensing Act. The members |
---|
62 | 88 | | of the Board shall be residents of this state and shall be appointed |
---|
63 | 89 | | by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. The |
---|
92 | 142 | | licensed speech-language pathologists or audiologists, provided that |
---|
93 | 143 | | at least one of the three shall be a licensed speech -language |
---|
94 | 144 | | pathologist and at least one, a licensed audiologist; one |
---|
95 | 145 | | otolaryngologist who is certified by the American Board of |
---|
96 | 146 | | Otolaryngology and one lay member. |
---|
97 | 147 | | B. The members of the original Board shall serve the following |
---|
98 | 148 | | terms: one member for one (1) year, two members for two (2) years, |
---|
99 | 149 | | and two members for three (3) years. Thereafter, at the expiration |
---|
100 | 150 | | of the term, or termination of the member ’s service for any reason, |
---|
101 | 151 | | the Governor shall appoint each successor for a term of three (3) |
---|
102 | 152 | | years, or for the remainder of an unexpired term. The successor for |
---|
103 | 153 | | any of the three speech -language pathologists or audiologists will |
---|
104 | 154 | | be selected from a list of five licensed speech -language |
---|
105 | 155 | | pathologists or audiologists, furnished by the Oklahoma Speech - |
---|
106 | 156 | | Language-Hearing Association In selecting appointees, the Governor |
---|
107 | 157 | | may consider recommendations from a s tatewide organization |
---|
108 | 158 | | representing speech-language pathologists or audiologists, a state |
---|
109 | 159 | | chapter of a national organization representing speech -language |
---|
110 | 160 | | pathologists or audiologists, or other groups or individuals in this |
---|
111 | 161 | | state. The re-creation of the Board shall not affect the staggered |
---|
112 | 162 | | terms of office for Board members established with the original |
---|

141 | 215 | | C. Before entering upon the duties of the member ’s office, each |
---|
142 | 216 | | member of the Board shall take the constitutional oath of office and |

143 | 217 | | file it with the Secretary of State. |

144 | 218 | | D. Board members may be reappointed to serve one additional |
---|
145 | 219 | | three-year term. Three (3) years after the termination of a |

146 | 220 | | previous appointment to the Board, a member may be reappointed for |
---|
147 | 221 | | one additional three -year term. |

148 | 222 | | E. Board members shall be reimbursed for travel expenses |
---|
149 | 223 | | incurred in the performance of their duties as provided in the State |
---|
150 | 224 | | Travel Reimbursement Act. |
---|
151 | 225 | | SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025. |
---|
