40	66		amending 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1354, as amended by
41	67		Section 1, Chapter 66, O.S.L. 2023 (5 9 O.S. Supp.
42	68		2024, Section 1354), which relates to the State Board
43	69		of Examiners of Psychologists; removing certain
44	70		limitation on appointees; permitting the Governor to
45	71		consider certain recommendations; amending 59 O.S.
46	72		2021, Section 1357, which relates to vacancies;
47	73		conforming language; updating statutory language; and
48	74		providing an effective date.

53	79		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
54	80		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1354, as
55	81		amended by Section 1, Chapter 66, O.S.L. 2023 (59 O.S. Supp. 2024,
56	82		Section 1354), is amended to read as follows:
57	83		Section 1354. There is hereby re-created, to continue until
58	84		July 1, 2025, pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law,
59	85		the State Board of Examiners o f Psychologists. The Board shall
60	86		administer the provisions of the Psychologist s Licensing Act. The
61	87		Board shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by the Governor.
62	88		Five members shall be psychologists from various areas in psychology
63	89		and two members shall be lay persons. At the expiration of the term

	141	+	of each Board member who is a psychologist , the Governor shall
92	142		appoint a successor from a list of ten licensed psychologists which
93	143		is provided by the Oklahoma State Psychological Association . In
94	144		selecting appointees, the Governor may consider recommendations from
95	145		a statewide organization representing psychologists, a state chapter
96	146		of a national organization representing psychologists, or other
97	147		groups or individuals in this state . Members shall serve for a term
98	148		of four (4) years and until a successor is appointed and qualified.
99	149		Before entering upon the duties of office, each member of the Board
100	150		shall take the constitutional oath of office and file it with the
101	151		Secretary of State.
102	152		SECTION 2. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1357, is
103	153		amended to read as follows:
104	154		Section 1357. After giving the member a written statement of
105	155		the charges and an opportunity to be heard thereon, the Governor may
106	156		remove any member of the State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
107	157		for misconduct, incompetency, or neglect of duty. Any vacancy in
108	158		the membership of the Board shall be filled by the Governor for the
109	159		unexpired term. If there is a vacancy in the psychologist
110	160		membership of the Board, the Governor shal l fill it from a list of
111	161		ten (10) psychologists which is provided by the Oklaho ma State
112	162		Psychological Association . In selecting appointees, the Governor
113	163		may consider recommendations from a statewide organization
114	164		representing psychologists, a state chapter of a national
