39	65		An Act relating to judicial retirement; mandating
40	66		retirement of certain judicial officers upon certain
41	67		age; authorizing completion of ce rtain term;

51	77		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
52	78		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
53	79		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1407 of Title 20, unless there
54	80		is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
55	81		A. As authorized pursuant to subsection (c) of Section 11 o f
56	82		Article VII of the Oklahoma Constitution, a Justice of the Supreme
57	83		Court, a Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals or of the Court of
58	84		Civil Appeals, or a district or associate district court judge shall
59	85		retire when he or she reaches seventy -five (75) years of age;
60	86		provided, however, such appellate Justice or Judge or district or
61	87		associate district court judge may complete the term during which he
62	88		or she turns seventy -five (75) years of age if he or she chooses to

92	142		retirement benefits as provided by law.
93	143		B. An appellate Justice or Judge or district or associate
94	144		district court judge who has reached seventy -five (75) years of ag e
95	145		on or before the effective date of this act shall retire on the
96	146		effective date of this act; provided, however, such appellate Justice
97	147		or Judge or district or associate district court judge may complete
98	148		the term during which this act was enacted if he or she chooses to
99	149		complete such term. Upon retiring, each such appellate Justice or
100	150		Judge or district or associate district court judge shall receive
101	151		retirement benefits as provided by law.
102	152		C. No person shall be eligible for election , retention, or
103	153		appointment to any appellate or district court who has reached
104	154		seventy-five (75) years of age prior to or on the date of election
105	155		or appointment.
106	156		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
