66	66	60 O.S. 2021, Section 122, which relates to
67	67	exceptions; defining terms; updating statutory

73	73	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
74	74	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 60 O.S. 2021, Section 122, is
75	75	amended to read as follows:
76	76	Section 122. A. For purposes of this section:
77	77	1. “Bona fide resident” shall be a lawful permanent resident of
78	78	the United States; and
79	79	2. “Lawful permanent resident ” means a foreign national who has
80	80	been granted the right to reside permanently in the United Sta tes.
81	81	B. This article shall not apply to lands now owned in this
82	82	state by aliens so long as they are held by the present owners, nor
83	83	to any alien who is or shall take up bona fide residence in this
84	84	state: and any alien who is or shall become a bona fide r esident of
85	85	the State of Oklahoma this state shall have the right to acquire an d
86	86	hold lands in this state upon the same terms as citizens of the

138	138	State of Oklahoma this state during the continuance of such bona
139	139	fide residence of such alien in this state: Provided, that if any
140	140	such resident alien shall cease to be a bona fide inhabitant of this
141	141	state, such alien shall have five (5) years from the time he or she
142	142	ceased to be such bona fide resident in which to alienate such
143	143	lands.
144	144	SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
145	145	of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
146	146	declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
147	147	be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
