99 | 97 | | firm shall be well-established in the nuclear industry. |

100 | 98 | | B. The feasibility study shall evaluate and consider: |
---|
101 | 99 | | 1. Advantages and disadvantages of generating nuclear energy in |
---|
102 | 100 | | this state, including, but not limited to, the economic and |
---|
103 | 101 | | environmental impacts; |
---|
104 | 102 | | 2. Methods to maximize exis ting workforce and products made in |
---|
105 | 103 | | this state for the construction of nuclear energy generation |
---|
106 | 104 | | facilities; |
---|
107 | 105 | | 3. Design characteristics, including recommendations for design |
---|
108 | 106 | | specification and site selection; |
---|
109 | 107 | | 4. Environmental and ecological impacts; |
---|
110 | 108 | | 5. Land and siting criteria, including specific geographic |
---|
111 | 109 | | areas that are best suited for new nuclear generation, as well as |
---|
112 | 110 | | cities near military bases that may use new nuclear electric |
---|
113 | 111 | | generation to meet the military resiliency requirements of 10 |
---|
114 | 112 | | U.S.C., Section 2920; |

115 | 113 | | 6. Safety criteria; |
---|
116 | 114 | | 7. Engineering and cost -related information; |

156 | 153 | | g. policy recommendations to support nuclear energy |

157 | 154 | | generation, including a survey of federal programs to |
---|
158 | 155 | | financially assist the development of a nuclear |
---|
159 | 156 | | project in this state. |

160 | 157 | | C. The Corporation Commission in conjunction with retail |
---|
161 | 158 | | electric suppliers and municipally owned electric utilities shall |
---|
162 | 159 | | cooperate in providing information relevant to the feasibility |
---|
163 | 160 | | study, providing for reasonable safeguards to protect confidenti al |
---|
164 | 161 | | information. |
---|
165 | 162 | | D. Not later than nine (9) months after the effective date of |
---|
166 | 163 | | this act, the Corporation Commission shall electronically deliver |
---|
167 | 164 | | the feasibility study findings to the President Pro Tempore of the |
---|

203 | 199 | | SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation |

204 | 200 | | of the public peace, health or safety, a n emergency is hereby |

205 | 201 | | declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and |
---|
206 | 202 | | be in full force from and after its passage and approval. |
