7777 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :
7878 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codif ied
7979 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 7201 of Title 63, unless there
8080 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
8181 A. A licensed practitioner shall, prior to the pre scription of
8282 any psychotropic drug to a patient, offer to administer a
8383 pharmacogenomic test to the patient for the purpose of guiding the
8484 decisions of the licensed practitioner with respect to how the
8585 patient’s genes may react to certain medications.
8686 B. The licensed practitioner shall, to the best of the licensed
8787 practitioner’s knowledge, inform the patient of the efficacy of
8888 pharmacogenomic testing. The licensed practitioner shall inform the

140140 patient of whether or not the pharmacogenomic test to be
141141 administered is approved by the United States Food and Drug
142142 Administration. The licensed practitioner shall obtain the
143143 patient’s informed consent prior to ordering a pharmacogenomic test.
144144 If the practitioner is aware of the cost of the pharmacogenomic
145145 test, the practitioner shall provide an estimate to the patient of
146146 such cost.
147147 C. If a patient provides informed consent to receive a
148148 pharmacogenomic test, the licensed practitioner shall order the
149149 pharmacogenomic test and administer such test to the patient prior
150150 to the prescription of any psychotropic medication.
151151 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
