158 | 228 | | 2. Appointments shall be for two -year terms. Members shall |

159 | 229 | | serve at the pleasure of their designators. Members may be |

160 | 230 | | reappointed not to exceed two terms. In case of a vacancy, the |

161 | 231 | | Governor shall appoint individuals to fill the remainder of the |
---|
162 | 232 | | term. |

163 | 233 | | B. The State Department of Health shall provide administrative |
---|
164 | 234 | | support to perform designated duties of the Advisory Council. The |
---|
194 | 288 | | C. The Advisory Council shall annually elect a chair, vice- |
---|
195 | 289 | | chair vice chair and secretary-treasurer, shall meet at least |
---|
196 | 290 | | quarterly, and may hold such special meetings as may be necessary. |

197 | 291 | | The members of the Advisory Council shall be reimbursed as provided |
---|
198 | 292 | | for by the State Travel Reimbursement Act. |
---|
199 | 293 | | D. The Advisory Counc il shall have the power and duty to: |

200 | 294 | | 1. Serve as an advisory body to the Department for the |
---|
201 | 295 | | development and improvement of services to and care and treatment of |
---|
202 | 296 | | residents of facilities subject to the provisions of the Nursing |
---|
203 | 297 | | Home Care Act, homes subject to the provisions of the Residential |
---|
204 | 298 | | Care Act and facilities subject to the provisions of the Adult Day |
---|
205 | 299 | | Care Act; |
---|
206 | 300 | | 2. Review and make recommendations regarding quality of |
---|
207 | 301 | | services, care, and treatment provided to individuals receiving |
---|
208 | 302 | | services from entitie s that are subject to the Nursing Home Care |
---|
209 | 303 | | Act, the Residential Care Act and the Adult Day Care Act; and |
---|
210 | 304 | | 3. Evaluate and review the standards, practices, and procedures |
---|
211 | 305 | | regarding the administration and enforcement of the provisions of |
---|
212 | 306 | | the Nursing Home Care Act, the Residential Care Act and the Adult |
---|
213 | 307 | | Day Care Act. |
---|
214 | 308 | | SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2025. |
