57	50		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
58	51		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1253, as
59	52		amended by Section 1, Chapter 65, O.S.L. 2023 (59 O.S. Supp. 2024,
60	53		Section 1253), is amended to read as follows:
61	54		Section 1253. A. There is hereby re -created, to continue until
62	55		July 1, 2025 July 1, 2027, in accordance with t he provisions of the
63	56		Oklahoma Sunset Law, the State Board of Licensed Social Workers,
64	57		consisting of seven (7) members.
65	58		B. Three of the members of t he Board shall be licensed social
66	59		workers or licensed clinical social workers licensed pursuant to the
	60	+	provisions of the Social Worker ’s Licensing Act. Two members shall
	61	+	be licensed as either social work associates or master ’s social
	62	+	workers. One member shall be the president of the Oklahoma Chapter

94		-	provisions of the Social Worker ’s Licensing Act. Two members shall
95		-	be licensed as either social work associates or master ’s social
96		-	workers. One member sha ll be the president of the Oklahoma Chapter
97	89		of the National Association of Social Workers. The remaining member
98	90		of the Board shall be selected from and shall represent the general
99	91		public.
100	92		C. Responsibility for enforcement of the provisions of this act
101	93		the Social Worker’s Licensing Act is hereby vested in the State
102	94		Board of Social Work. The Board shall have all of the duties,
103	95		powers, and authority specifically granted by, or necessary for, the
104	96		enforcement of this act the Social Worker’s Licensing Act as well as
105	97		other duties, powers , and authority it may be granted by applicable
106	98		law.
107	99		D. 1. Each member of th e Board appointed as a social worker
108	100		shall:
109	101		a. be a resident of this state,
110	102		b. be licensed in good standing to engage in the practice
111	103		of social work in this state,
112	104		c. at the time of appointment, have been actively engaged
113	105		in the practice of social work for at least one (1)
114	106		year out of the last five (5) years, and
115	107		d. have at least three (3) years of experience in the
116	108		practice of social work.
	109	+	2. Each member of the Board appointed to represent the general
	110	+	public shall be a resident of this state who has attai ned the age of
	111	+	majority and shall not be, nor shall ever have been, a social work
	112	+	licensee, or the spouse of a social work licensee, or a person who

144		-	2. Each member of the Board appointed to represent the general
145		-	public shall be a resident of this state who has attained the age of
146		-	majority and shall not be, nor shall ever have been, a social work
147		-	licensee, or the spouse of a social work licensee, or a person who
148	139		has ever had any material financial interest in the provision of
149	140		social work services or has engaged in any activity directly related
150	141		to the practice of social work.
151	142		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2025.
152	143		SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
153	144		of the public peace, health or safety, an e mergency is hereby
154	145		declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
155	146		be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
