7777 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7878 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
7979 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 250.8 of Title 74, unless there
8080 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
8181 A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, and on and after
8282 the effective date of this act, n o state employee shall be annually
8383 compensated more than the Governor of this state pursuant to the
8484 salary established in Section 250.4 of Title 74 of the Oklahoma
8585 Statutes.
8686 B. Except as provided in subsection C of this secti on and for
8787 the purposes of this section, “state employee” means and includes

139139 each officer or employee elected or employed in the service of this
140140 state.
141141 C. The following state employees shall be exempt from the
142142 requirements in subsection A of this section:
143143 1. Officers and members of the Oklahoma State Regents for
144144 Higher Education and state employees of institutions under the
145145 administrative authority of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher
146146 Education; and
147147 2. Physicians and other licensed health care profes sionals
148148 under the administrative authority of any state department or
149149 agency.
150150 D. State employee compensation greater than the Governor ’s may
151151 be submitted to the Legislature by the director of the respective
152152 state department, agency, or political subdivisi on. The Legislature
153153 may approve such compensation by the proper passage of a joint or
154154 concurrent resolution.
155155 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2025.
156156 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the prese rvation
157157 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
158158 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
159159 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
