65	65	An Act relating to automobiles owned by the state;
66	66	amending 47 O.S. 2021, Section 156.3, which relates
67	67	to the purchase of motor vehicles for performance of
68	68	official duties; removing approval requirement for
69	69	purchase of certain vehicles ; updating statutory
70	70	reference; and providing an effective date .

75	75	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
76	76	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 47 O.S. 2021, Section 156.3, is
77	77	amended to read as follow s:
78	78	Section 156.3. A. This act, Section 151 et seq. of this title ,
79	79	shall not apply to and shall not be so construed as prohibiting the
80	80	purchase and use of trucks or pickups by s tate agencies when the
81	81	trucks or pickups are necessary for the performance of official
82	82	duties of the state agency.
83	83	B. Trucks and pickups owned and operated by the Department of
84	84	Transportation shall be painted either yellow or white, and except
85	85	as otherwise provided by law, shall be plainly marked with the words
86	86	“State of Oklahoma” followed by the name of the department.

138	138	C. The provisions of this section shall not be construed to
139	139	permit the purchase of any motor vehicle of ten thousand (10,000)
140	140	pounds or less gross vehicle weight.
141	141	D. All acquisitions of any motor vehicle of ten thousand
142	142	(10,000) pounds or less gross vehicle weight shall be approved by
143	143	the Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services as
144	144	provided for in Section 78a of Title 7 4 of the Oklahoma Statutes.
145	145	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
