6363 An Act relating to welfare programs; defining term;

7171 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7272 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
7373 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Sectio n 270 of Title 56, unless there is
7474 created a duplication in numbering, reads a s follows:
7575 A. As used in this section, “universal basic income ” means any
7676 welfare program that provides a recurring source of income in the
7777 form of a government transfer payment to all residents or citizens
7878 or all adult residents or citizens within a designated area or
7979 political boundary, which income is provided without a means test or
8080 work requirement.
8181 B. No universal basic income shall be provided by this state or
8282 any political subdivision of this state.
8383 SECTION 2. This act shall becom e effective November 1, 2025.
