216 | 303 | | platform without written consent from the parent or legal guardian |

217 | 304 | | of the minor. The social media platform shall ve rify the identity |
---|

258 | 369 | | users unless such data is de -identified and shall not use or pro cess |

259 | 370 | | the data of a minor user in a manner that is inconsistent with the |

260 | 371 | | best interests of the minor user. A social media platform shall not |
---|
261 | 372 | | display, send, or target an advertisement to a minor user or use |
---|
262 | 373 | | data collected from a minor user for advertising p urposes. |
---|
263 | 374 | | E. A social media platform shall not use an algorithm, |
---|
264 | 375 | | artificial intelligence, machine learning, or other technology to |
---|
265 | 376 | | select, recommend, rank, or personalize content for a minor user |
---|
266 | 377 | | based on the profile, preferences, behavior, location, or ot her data |
---|
267 | 378 | | of the minor user. |
---|
| 379 | + | F. A social media platform shall not employ a feature, design, |

---|
311 | 446 | | I. Nothing in this act shall be construed to prevent or |
---|
312 | 447 | | preclude a minor from deliberately or independently searching for, |
---|
313 | 448 | | or specifically requesting, content or require a social media |
---|
314 | 449 | | platform to implement a minimum age requirement to access suc h |
---|
315 | 450 | | platform. |
---|
316 | 451 | | SECTION 3. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025. |
