77	77	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
78	78	1ST SESSION OF THE 60TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
79	79	SECTION 1. The Secretary of State shall refer to the people for
80	80	their approval or rejection, as and in the manner provided by law,
81	81	the following proposed amendment to Sec tion 5 of Article II of the
82	82	Oklahoma Constitution to read as follows:
83	83	Section 5. No public money or property shall ever be
84	84	appropriated, applied, donated, or used , directly or indirectly, for
85	85	the direct financial use, benefit, or support of any sect, chur ch,
86	86	denomination, or system of religion, or for the direct financial
87	87	use, benefit, or support of any priest, preacher, minister, or other
88	88	religious teacher or dignitary, or sectarian institution as such.

145	145	THE GIST OF THE PROPOSITION IS AS FOLLOWS:
146	146	This measure amends Section 5 of Article 2 of the Oklahoma
147	147	Constitution. It modifies the prohibition on public money us ed
148	148	for sectarian or religious support or benefit to only prohibit
149	149	the direct financial support or benefit of any sect or religious
150	150	institution.

154	154	SECTION 3. The President Pro Tempore of the Senate shall,
155	155	immediately after the passage of this resolution, prepare and file
156	156	one copy thereof, including the Ballot Title set forth in SECTION 2
