21	73		WHEREAS, nationwide, the week of April 6 , 2025, through April
22	74		12, 2025, is National Crime Victims ’ Rights Week; and

24	75		WHEREAS, the theme this year for National Crime Victims ’ Rights
25	76		Week is “Kinship, Connecting, and Healing ”; and

27	77		WHEREAS, all victims deserve equal righ ts throughout the
28	78		judicial system; and

30	79		WHEREAS, the victims’ rights being pursued aim to provide
31	80		coequal protections that are no more or no less than the rights
32	81		afforded to those accused and convicted of crimes; and

34	82		WHEREAS, consideration, awareness, and a voice for victims are
35	83		central to the remembrance of victims during National Crime Victims ’
36	84		Rights Week; and

38	85		WHEREAS, each victim should always be treated with fairness and
39	86		respect throughout the criminal justice process, protected from the

51	144		NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE 1ST SESSION
52	145		OF THE 60TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:

54	146		THAT the Oklahoma State Senate proclaims the week of April 6
55	147		through April 12 as National Crime Victims ’ Rights Week, and
56	148		Wednesday, April 9, 2025, as Victims ’ Rights Day.

59	150		Services Division of the District Attorneys Council.
