2866 Black Sunday; and reminding Oklahomans of the

3473 WHEREAS, the Dust Bowl of the 1930s was the worst natural
3574 disaster of the time in the United States, having a profound impact
3675 on the people and the land of Oklahoma, specifically with the storm
3776 known as Black Sunday, on April 14, 1935; and

3977 WHEREAS, following the Black Sunday s torm, Oklahoma became
4078 committed to soil conservation and the protection of our soil
4179 resources, becoming a national leader in conservation and working
4280 with landowners to inst all land management practices that have
4381 transformed, protected, and sustained the land for the 90 years
4482 since Black Sunday; and

4983 WHEREAS, Oklahoma’s soil conservation effort has been a
5084 longstanding and effective partnership between local conservation
5185 districts, the Oklahoma Conservation Commission, and the federal
