Appropriates moneys to the Department of Transportation to create an emergency contact in- formation form and make the form available for individuals to voluntarily provide emergency contact information for inclusion in the individual’s record for police officers to use, during or after emer- gency situations, to contact those listed. Declares an emergency, effective July 1, 2025. A BILL FOR AN ACT Relating to maintaining emergency contact information in the records of the Department of Trans- portation; and declaring an emergency. Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon: SECTION 1. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropri- ated to the Department of Transportation, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2025, out of the General Fund, the amount of $_______, which may be expended for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of ORS 802.275. SECTION 2.This 2025 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2025 Act takes effect July 1, 2025.
