Recognizes Andy Bromeland (1948-2024) for his service and commitment to the people of the State of Oregon. CONCURRENT RESOLUTION Whereas Andy Bromeland was born on April 22, 1948, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to Don and Thelma Bromeland; and Whereas Andy grew up on his father’s farm near Frost, Minnesota; and Whereas in the summer of 1966, after graduating from Mankato State College, Andy moved to Oregon;and Whereas following a job at Samaritan Albany General Hospital in Albany, Oregon, Andy joined the Secretary of State Audits Division in Salem as a Certified Public Accountant; and Whereas Andy was a firm believer in grassroots democracy, and served 52 years as a Marion County Democratic Precinct Committeeperson; and Whereas Andy served as chair of the Young Democrats of Oregon from 1977 to 1978; and Whereas following his time with the Young Democrats, Andy chaired the Marion County Dem- ocratic Central Committee from 1978 to 1985; and Whereas Andy was also a member of both the State Central Committee and the Congressional Central Committee from 1978 to 1985; and Whereas Andy also served as chair for the Salem-Keizer Public Schools Community Relations Committee, the Marion County DemoForum program, and the Neighborhood Leader Program in Marion County, which he set up; and Whereas Andy also created the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Program in the City of Salem, and he ran it for five years; and Whereas Andy married his wife, LeAnn, in 1979, and they raised their two children, Brandon and Holly, in Salem; and Whereas Andy was an avid hiker and camper who spent countless days making memories with his family on the Metolius River and the Oregon coast; and Whereas Andy was a committed career public educator, a loyal and passionate University of Oregon Ducks fan, and a loving and beloved husband, father and grandfather; and Whereas Andy passed away at Salem Health on September 21, 2024; and Whereas Andy is survived by his wife, LeAnn, his son Brandon and daughter Holly, his daughter-in-law Jill, his grandsons Caleb, Chase and Lowell, his granddaughter Lucy, his siblings Duane, Virginia, Kristen and Ken and his much-loved dog Gus; now, therefore, NOTE:Matter in boldfaced type in an amended section is new; matter [italic and bracketed] is existing law to be omitted.
