PRINTER'S NO. 577 THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF PENNSYLVANIA SENATE RESOLUTION No.63 Session of 2025 INTRODUCED BY MASTRIANO, APRIL 9, 2025 REFERRED TO INTERGOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS, APRIL 9, 2025 A RESOLUTION Urging each member of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation to commend and support the Department of Government Efficiency. WHEREAS, The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) h as made remarkable strides in enhancing government efficiency, curbing the waste of taxpayers' dollars and eliminating unnecessary overspending; and WHEREAS, Through focused efforts, DOGE has addressed critical inefficiencies by cutting through bureaucratic red tape and updating outdated processes; and WHEREAS, The most recent accomplishments of DOGE include saving an estimated $105 billion for taxpayers; and WHEREAS, This impressive figure results from initiatives such as fraud detection and elimination, the cancellation of unnecessary contracts and leases, the renegotiation of contracts and leases to achieve better terms, asset sales, grant cancellations, workforce reductions, programmatic changes and regulatory savings aimed at streamlining government operations; and 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 WHEREAS, While many seniors, disabled veterans and hardworking Pennsylvanians struggle to make ends meet, billions of dollars continue to flow to foreign countries for unwarranted projects that serve no public purpose; and WHEREAS, The illuminating work of DOGE has exposed these money laundering schemes and corruption, ensuring transparency and accountability in our government; and WHEREAS, Elon Musk's innovative approach to efficiency- leveraging automation, data-driven decisionmaking and reimagining legacy systems has not only revolutionized private industry, but has also delivered substantial savings for taxpayers; and WHEREAS, As the founder and CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink and The Boring Company, Mr. Musk has been a leader in disruptive innovations across various sectors, from electric vehicles to space exploration; and WHEREAS, It is essential now to recognize and harness Mr. Musk's insights for the public sector; and WHEREAS, By embracing technological advancements and incorporating them into public services, public officials can reduce costs, create new job opportunities and foster a government that is responsive, sustainable and forward-thinking; therefore be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania urge each member of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation to commend and support the Department of Government Efficiency; and be it further RESOLVED, That the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recognize that as we enter a new era of government efficiency and technological advancement, it is imperative to fully stand 20250SR0063PN0577 - 2 - 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 behind DOGE and ensure that DOGE has the necessary resources and access to continue enhancing government efficiency and accountability; and be it further RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania transmit a copy of this resolution to each member of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation. 20250SR0063PN0577 - 3 - 1 2 3 4 5 6
