Donald S. Beyer Jr. is a prominent Democratic Representative from Virginia, holding office since January 3, 2015. He was born on June 20, 1950, in Trieste, Italy. Beyer graduated from Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C., in 1968 and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College in Massachusetts in 1972. Beyer also served as the Lieutenant Governor of Virginia from 1990 to 1998 and was appointed as the United States Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein from 2009 to 2013.
