Biography
Josh Gottheimer is a current U.S. Representative for New Jersey's 5th Congressional District, having served in this role since January 3, 2013. Born on October 1, 1975, in Queens, New York, he graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 1993. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1997 and a Juris Doctor from Yeshiva University in 2002. Prior to his congressional career, Gottheimer practiced law and served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012.
As a member of Congress, Gottheimer is actively involved in various committees, notably the Appropriations Committee and the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Subcommittee.
