Biography

Greg Stanton is a Democratic Representative from Arizona, currently serving in the U.S. Congress since January 3, 2019. Born on March 8, 1970, in Long Island, New York, he graduated from Cortez High School in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1988. Stanton went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1992, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1995. Before entering Congress, he had a diverse career in public service and law. He served on the Phoenix City Council from 2000 to 2009, was deputy attorney general in Arizona from 2009 to 2011, and was honored to serve as Mayor of Phoenix from 2012 until 2018.

In Congress, Stanton has focused on a range of issues, including disaster relief, veterans' healthcare, environmental protection, housing, and economic development.
