Directs the department of social services to establish a refugee resettlement program with the goals of achieving economic and social self-sufficiency, assisting victims of human trafficking, and assuring proper foster care for unaccompanied refugees
Enacts the "9/11 notice act"; provides for notice to past and present employees of eligibility for the September eleventh victim compensation fund and the World Trade Center health program.
Requires the development and implementation of written workplace sexual harassment, sexual assault, and discrimination policies by corporations; requires reporting and eligibility for tax credits based on a corporation's record of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and discrimination among and between employees of such corporation; requires the division of human rights to promulgate standards relating to eligibility for state tax credits.
Increases foundation aid for school districts that meet five variables impacting academic success: free or reduced lunch, English language learners, wealth ratio, enrollment, special education, and being located in a high wealth ratio county.
Prohibits drug, cannabis or alcohol testing and screening of pregnant or postpartum individuals and newborns unless the individual consents and it is within the scope of medical care, or the testing or screening is necessary for a medical emergency.
Provides for the trustees of the state university of New York to establish a four-year college of engineering and applied sciences in the city of Yonkers within the state university system.
Directs the commissioner of education to appoint a media literacy advisory committee to study the teaching of media literacy; requires such committee to annually review policy on media literacy.
Prohibits food-service and retail establishments from refusing to accept cash as payment for goods or services; calls for a civil fine if an establishment should refuse cash as payment.
