Biography

John James is a Republican Representative from Michigan, elected to the House of Representatives for the One Hundred Eighteenth Congress starting January 3, 2023. Born on June 8, 1981, in Southfield, Michigan, he graduated from Brother Rice High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2004. He also holds a Master of Public Administration from Pennsylvania State University (2014) and an MBA from the University of Michigan (2015). James served in the United States Army from 2004 to 2012, after which he established himself as a business executive.

James has previously run for the United States Senate, having been an unsuccessful candidate in both 2018 and 2020.
