Joyce Beatty is a Democratic Representative for Ohio's 3rd congressional district, serving since January 3, 2013. Born on March 12, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio, she completed her B.A. from Central State University and a master's degree from Wright State University. Her professional background includes roles as the executive director of human services in Montgomery County, a professor at Sinclair Community College, and a senior vice president at The Ohio State University. Beatty previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008, where she held the position of minority leader from 2007 to 2008.
