Enacts the "learning for work act"; establishes the youth apprenticeship program and the enhanced regents professional diploma; appropriates moneys therefor.
Relates to crimes against public trust by state officers; requires such state officers' salary to be suspended pending indictment for such crimes; if convicted requires such state officers to pay back the portion of their salary beginning with the pay period immediately proceeding the date upon which the first convicted offense occurred.
Provides milk dealers who operate trucks throughout the state buying, delivering, and selling milk with an EZ pass free of charge, where the authority will be responsible for the cost so long as it can be proved the truck is used exclusively for such purpose.
Directs the office of mental health to develop materials relating to suicide prevention and identifying signs of depression for school-aged children; authorizes school districts to include suicide prevention in health class curriculum.
Implements a shoreline hardening plan for all residents with property along Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence river in order to prevent damage from flooding.
Authorizes and directs the commissioner of the office of general services to commission the flag design committee of the North American Vexillological Association to design a new state flag.
Requires applicants for certain nursing licenses and certifications to complete a course in the prevention of human trafficking; directs the commissioners of education and health to develop such training and regulations; directs that certain forfeited funds be used to reimburse actual costs expended for the development of such training.
Includes falsely reporting incidents in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of police officers to a particular address or location as a felony offense under the crime of falsely reporting an incident in the second degree.
