Nick LaLota is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing the 1st congressional district of New York. Born on March 28, 1982, in Kingston, New York, LaLota graduated from Kingston High School in 2000. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2004 and a Master of Arts from Georgetown University in 2013. His military service includes five years in the United States Army, where he served from 2004 to 2009. LaLota has also worked as a business executive and owned a business, bringing a blend of military and private sector experience to his role in Congress.

Before his election to Congress, LaLota was the county executive of Ulster County, New York, from 2019 to 2022.
