He graduated from the Hudson School in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 2003 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008, followed by a Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School, Newark, in 2011. Before entering Congress, he practiced law and served as a commissioner on the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey from 2021 to 2022. He has been serving as a member of Congress since being elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Eighteenth Congress, beginning on January 3, 2023, and continuing in the succeeding Congress.
