Biography

Born on March 29, 1969, in Taipei, Taiwan, this congressman represents California and has built a diverse and accomplished background. A graduate of Stanford University where he obtained both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in 1991, he later earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University in 1994. His early career saw service in the United States Air Force from 1995 to 1999, followed by service in the Air Force Reserve until 2021. Professionally, he has worked as a judicial clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and practiced law in the private sector.

His political career began with a seat on the Torrance City Council from 2002 to 2005, followed by a tenure in the California State Assembly (2005-2010) and the California State Senate (2011-2014). He was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2015 and has since been re-elected in subsequent terms.

Notably, he played a significant role as one of the managers appointed by the House of Representatives to conduct the impeachment proceedings of Donald Trump in 2021, signaling his active engagement in pivotal national issues.
