Biography

Tim Sheehy is a United States Senator representing Montana. Born on November 18, 1985, in Ramsey, Minnesota, he graduated from St. Paul Academy in 2004 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, in 2008. Sheehy served in the United States Navy SEALs, where he became a combat veteran of the War in Afghanistan, achieving the rank of lieutenant and receiving both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for his service. Following his military career, he ventured into entrepreneurship as an aerial firefighter and founder of a company focused on firefighting services.

Elected as a Republican to the U.S. Senate in 2024, Sheehy’s term extends until January 3, 2031. He is a member of key committees, including the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, and several subcommittees focusing on aviation, oceans, fisheries, climate change, and broadband communications.
