Biography

Representative Trent Ashby has served in the Texas House of Representatives since January 2013, representing a diverse district that includes Angelina, Houston, Polk, San Augustine, Trinity, and Tyler Counties. He was born and raised on a dairy and diversified livestock farm in Rusk County, Texas, which has significantly influenced his advocacy for rural interests. Ashby attended Texas A&M University, obtaining a degree in Agricultural Economics, where he was active in student governance.

Currently, he holds the position of Senior Vice President at VeraBank and is dedicated to ensuring the betterment of his community alongside his wife, Nickie, and their two sons, Garin and Grant. Ashby has been recognized for his leadership, notably being honored as the Freshman of the Year by his colleagues in the Republican Caucus and later named the Most Valuable Sophomore in the Texas House.
