JOINT RESOLUTION MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF $6,000,000 TO ONWARD WE LEARN IN RI (Authorizes the appropriation of the sum of $6,000,000 to Onward We Learn in RI.)
Allows for a one-time two percent (2%) supplemental cost of living adjustment for plan year 2025 to the public pension benefits administered by the ERSRI, and allows for those benefits to be deducted from the taxpayer's adjusted gross income.
Authorizes the executive office of health and human services to establish a program providing coverage for nutritional assistance and medically tailored meals for certain beneficiaries where there is a clinical need.
Amends the capital gains tax rates and holding period from 5 years to 1 year. Imposes a non-owner occupied tax on homes assessed at more than $1,000,000.
Limits the use by insurers of step therapy, a protocol that establishes a specific sequence in which prescription drugs for a specified medical condition are covered by an insurer, by allowing medical providers to request step therapy exceptions.
Requires health plans that provide prescription benefits to cover at least one type of glucagon auto-injector, nasal spray, or formulation that does not require reconstitution to treat hypoglycemia. No copayment or deductible would be required.
Mandates that all restaurants offering children's meals offer at least two (2) children's meals that complies with certain detailed nutritional standards set forth in the act.
Grants a right of first offer to qualified nonprofits for the purchase of certain multi-family residential properties at market prices, within a reasonable period of time to promote the creation and preservation of affordable rental housing.
Amends charter of the Union Fire District of South Kingstown by renaming 'Reserve Capital Expenditures' to 'Capital Projects Fund' and allows the board of wardens to grant tax exemptions to current and retired volunteer firefighters and their spouses.
Restricts increases in monthly common expenses and limit special assessments to cover unforeseen costs not included in the association’s approved annual budget for common expenses in associations where the minority of the units are deed restricted units.
