Authorizes the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority to enter into certain projects and procure related services including the transit center project, using design build contracting and progressive design build contracting.
Provides that gift certificates issued by state-chartered institutions of higher education would be exempt from the provisions of the gift certificate statute relating to expiration, escheatment, reissuance and refund.
Extends the time for which a student may enroll in order to qualify for the Promise Scholarship or the Hope Scholarship up to one year after high school graduation.
Allows social gaming in private residences and in public taverns or private clubs as long as the gambling is incidental to a bona fide social relationship between the participants and no person other than the participants receive anything of value.
Includes the offense of second-degree sexual assault among the offenses to which there shall be no statute of limitations and provides for a ten (10) year statute of limitations for third-degree sexual assault.
Effective July 1, 2024, entitles environmental police officers to the benefits provided by chapter 45-21.2 entitled "Optional retirement for members of police force and firefighters."
Punishes as felony act of unlawfully discharging a firearm or incendiary or explosive substance or device with the intent to hit or fire into any unoccupied dwelling, building, other structure or ship, automobile or other conveyance.
