Biography

Zachary Nunn is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Iowa's 3rd Congressional District, having been elected in January 2023. Nunn was born on May 4, 1979, in Story City, Iowa. He graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1998 and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Drake University (2002), a Master’s from the Air Command and Staff College, and also completed an M.St. at Cambridge University in 2007. His background includes service in the United States Air Force and the Iowa Air National Guard, along with various staff roles including advising U.S. Senator Charles Grassley and working at the National Security Council and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Before his congressional career, Nunn served in the Iowa State House from 2015 to 2019 and in the Iowa State Senate from 2019 to 2023.
