| 22 | 22 | | It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: |

| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 1. In all respects in which the amendments to the Home Rule Charter of the 1 |

| 24 | 24 | | town of North Kingstown, which amendments were adopted and approved by the electors of the 2 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | town of North Kingstown on November 8, 2022, may require ratification, confirmation, validation, 3 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | or enactment by the general assembly, but in no other respects, the provisions of said amendments 4 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | to the Home Rule Charter of the town of North Kingstown are hereby ratified, confirmed, validated, 5 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and enacted. It is the express intention of the general assembly, by the passage of this act, to give 6 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | effect to, ratify, confirm, validate, and enact those provisions of the said amendments to the Home 7 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Rule Charter of the town of North Kingstown which require ratification, confirmation, validation, 8 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | or enactment, and by the passage of this act, the legislature does hereby ratify, confirm, validate, 9 |

| 32 | 32 | | and enact said provisions, but nothing in this act shall be construed to abrogate or impair the powers 10 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | now or hereafter granted to cities and towns by the Home Rule amendment and other applicable 11 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | laws of the State of Rhode Island or those rights retained by said town of North Kingstown in its 12 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Home Rule Charter. 13 |

| 36 | 36 | | SECTION 2. If any provision of this act, or the application thereof to the town of North 14 |

| 37 | 37 | | Kingstown or to any person or circumstances is deemed invalid for any reason, the remainder of 15 |

| 38 | 38 | | this act, or the application of such provision to said town or other persons or circumstance, shall 16 |

| 39 | 39 | | not be affected thereby, and to this end, the provisions of this act are declared to be severable. 17 |
