RELATING TO PUBLIC PROPERTY AND WORKS -- STATE PURCHASES

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 37-2-22 of the General Laws in Chapter 37-2 entitled "State 1
Purchases" is hereby amended to read as follows: 2
37-2-22. Small purchases. 3
Procurements, not to exceed an aggregate amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) 4
twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) for construction and five thousand dollars ($5,000) ten 5
thousand dollars ($10,000) for all other purchases may be made in accordance with small purchase 6
regulations promulgated by the chief purchasing officer. Procurement requirements shall not be 7
artificially divided so as to constitute a small purchase under this section. 8
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on December 31, 2023. 9

This act would provide that the maximum aggregate amounts for small purchases within 1
the chapter on state purchases be adjusted to not exceed twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) for 2
construction and ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for all other purchases. 3
This act would take effect on December 31, 2023. 4
