| 23 | 23 | SECTION 1. Chapter 23-18.9 of the General Laws entitled "Refuse Disposal" is hereby 1 | |
| 24 | 24 | amended by adding thereto the following section: 2 | |
| 25 | 25 | 23-18.9-19. Curbside pickup. 3 | |
| 26 | 26 | (a) Any city or town entering into a new contract with a waste management or trash pickup 4 | |
| 27 | 27 | service and/or renewing a contract with a waste management or trash pickup service shall not 5 | |
| 28 | 28 | require residents to pay for curbside mattress pickup or disposal. 6 | |
| 29 | 29 | (b) If the city or town manages their own waste management or trash pickup services, they 7 | |
| 30 | 30 | shall not charge residents a fee for curbside mattress pickup or disposal. 8 | |
