30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Findings from a recent panel tasked with finding ways to reduce 5 |

31 | 31 | | incarceration among women in Rhode Island determined that there is an overwhelming need for 6 |

32 | 32 | | significantly more support services and transitional housing for this population; and 7 |

33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, In order to formulate a structured decision-making tool or process in order 8 |

34 | 34 | | to prepare a Request For Proposal (RFP) to transition females in the criminal justice system 9 |

35 | 35 | | toward more positive outcomes, detailed information on current protocols, housing options, 10 |
---|
36 | 36 | | associated costs, and any potential additional methods, policies and programs is needed; now, 11 |
