1515 RELATING TO INSURANCE -- ACCIDENT AND SICKNESS INSURANCE POLICIES

2222 It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
2323 SECTION 1. Chapter 27-18 of the General Laws entitled "Accident and Sickness Insurance 1
2424 Policies" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
2525 27-18-82. Dependent health insurance protection. 3
2626 For the purpose of eligibility of group health insurance coverage, any dependent of an 4
2727 employee who is eligible for employer sponsored medical health insurance coverage shall be 5
2828 eligible to maintain such coverage, in the event said employee wishes to change their individual 6
2929 health coverage to Medicare or is currently on Medicare. 7
3030 SECTION 2. Chapter 27-19 of the General Laws entitled "Nonprofit Hospital Service 8
3131 Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 9
3232 27-19-83. Dependent health insurance protection. 10
3333 For the purpose of eligibility of group health insurance coverage, any dependent of an 11
3434 employee who is eligible for employer sponsored medical health insurance coverage shall be 12
3535 eligible to maintain such coverage, in the event said employee wishes to change their individual 13
3636 health coverage to Medicare or is currently on Medicare. 14
3737 SECTION 3. Chapter 27-20 of the General Laws entitled "Nonprofit Medical Service 15
3838 Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 16
