15	15	RELATING TO INSURANCE -- ACCIDENT AND SICKNESS INSURANCE POLICIES

22	22	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
23	23	SECTION 1. Chapter 27-18 of the General Laws entitled "Accident and Sickness Insurance 1
24	24	Policies" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
25	25	27-18-82. Dependent health insurance protection. 3
26	26	For the purpose of eligibility of group health insurance coverage, any dependent of an 4
27	27	employee who is eligible for employer sponsored medical health insurance coverage shall be 5
28	28	eligible to maintain such coverage, in the event said employee wishes to change their individual 6
29	29	health coverage to Medicare or is currently on Medicare. 7
30	30	SECTION 2. Chapter 27-19 of the General Laws entitled "Nonprofit Hospital Service 8
31	31	Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 9
32	32	27-19-83. Dependent health insurance protection. 10
33	33	For the purpose of eligibility of group health insurance coverage, any dependent of an 11
34	34	employee who is eligible for employer sponsored medical health insurance coverage shall be 12
35	35	eligible to maintain such coverage, in the event said employee wishes to change their individual 13
36	36	health coverage to Medicare or is currently on Medicare. 14
37	37	SECTION 3. Chapter 27-20 of the General Laws entitled "Nonprofit Medical Service 15
38	38	Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 16
39	39	27-20-79. Dependent health insurance protection. 17
40	40	For the purpose of eligibility of group health insurance coverage, any dependent of an 18
41	41	employee who is eligible for employer sponsored medical health insurance coverage shall be 19

47	47	SECTION 4. Chapter 27-41 of the General Laws entitled "Health Maintenance 3
48	48	Organizations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 4
49	49	27-41-96. Dependent health insurance protection. 5
50	50	For the purpose of eligibility of group health insurance coverage, any dependent of an 6
51	51	employee who is eligible for employer sponsored medical health insurance coverage shall be 7
52	52	eligible to maintain such coverage, in the event said employee wishes to change their individual 8
53	53	health coverage to Medicare or is currently on Medicare. 9
54	54	SECTION 5. This act shall take effect upon passage. 10
