| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) has 5 |

| 29 | 29 | | the authority to "Conduct a permanent and continuous program to control and remove litter from 6 |

| 30 | 30 | | this state to the maximum practical extent possible"; and 7 |

| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, The associated costs for this task are funded through "the litter control 8 |

| 32 | 32 | | appropriation" by way of grants or transfers, to eligible persons; now, therefore be it 9 |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not 10 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | otherwise appropriated for the fiscal year 2023-2024, the sum of two million dollars ($2,000,000) 11 |
