CONGRATULATING REGIN A "GINA" MOURA ON THE OCCASION OF HER 
RETIREMENT AFTER MOR E THAN 37 YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE 
STATE OF RHODE ISLAND

WHEREAS, Regina Moura, known to all as Gina Moura, was born in Providence, a 1 
daughter of Avis Castro and the late Honorable George Castro, who was a former member of the 2 
Rhode Island General Assembly; and 3 
WHEREAS, A graduate of Hope High School and the Community College of Rhode 4 
Island, Gina began her exemplary career serving as a page for the Rhode Island General 5 
Assembly in 1985. Over the next 37 plus years, she served in any needed capacity, working as a 6 
proofer, in the internship department, and in various clerical positions; and 7 
WHEREAS, For the last thirteen years, Gina has been a valued member of the Rhode 8 
Island House Constituent Services Office, serving as a Constituent Liaison where she has worked 9 
tirelessly to answer questions and solve the problems of House members' constituents. She 10 
always performed her work diligently and cared deeply about the general public and their 11 
concerns; and 12 
WHEREAS, Gina Moura is beloved by all for her infectious laugh, and her caring and 13 
charitable personality. She has always been very fashionable and might just have the largest shoe 14 
and handbag collection known to exist; and 15 
WHEREAS, Gina Moura is a devoted wife and mother who has always put her family 16 
first in her life. She is married to the Honorable Paul Moura, a former member of the Rhode 17 
Island General Assembly, who served in both the House and the Senate. Gina is also the devoted 18 
mother of twins, Paul Moura, Jr., and Nina Moura; now, therefore be it  19

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby 1 
heartily congratulates Gina Moura on her retirement from the State of Rhode Island and the 2 
Rhode Island General Assembly after thirty-seven years of devoted and distinguished service to 3 
the people of Rhode Island. We furthermore, wish her good health, much happiness in her 4 
adventures, and continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it further 5 
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to 6 
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Regina “Gina” Moura.  7
