S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N 
EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE P ASSING OF WOONSOCKET 
DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF ROGER E. PERREAULT

WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Roger 1 
E. Perreault of Blackstone, Massachusetts. He was the son of Constance Perreault and the late 2 
Roger Perreault, Sr., and was the beloved husband of Dale Perreault; and 3 
WHEREAS, Mr. Perreault was a graduate of Roger Williams University, attaining a 4 
Bachelor’s degree in public administration. He was a devoted public servant with a long and 5 
distinguished career as a firefighter for the City of Woonsocket. He dedicated his life in service to 6 
others and tirelessly strove to protect and ensure the safety of his family, fellow firefighters, and 7 
the citizens of Woonsocket; and 8 
WHEREAS, Mr. Perreault had most recently served as the Deputy Fire Chief of the 9 
Woonsocket Fire Department. He was held in high regard by his peers and colleagues for his 10 
tireless work ethic, for acting as a father figure for many of the new and younger firefighters, and 11 
for training many of the first responders in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Mayor Lisa 12 
Baldelli-Hunt had high praise for Deputy Chief Perreault, stating, “If it weren’t for being elected, 13 
I would never had the pleasure of having Roger in my life as a professional counterpart in our 14 
City, and I feel blessed that I was able to work with the Deputy Chief, over the last nine years”; 15 
and  16 
WHEREAS, Mr. Perreault was a member of the Rhode Island Fire Chiefs Association, 17 
the IAFF Local #732, and served as the Treasurer and Secretary for the Woonsocket Firefighters 18 
Relief Association.  He also served as an instructor for the Rhode Island Division of Emergency 19

Medical Services, was a registered nurse and was a talented woodworker; and 1 
WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Dale, and mother, Constance, Mr. Perreault leaves 2 
behind his son, Luke Perreault, and granddaughter, Lillian “Billie” Perreault. He also leaves 3 
behind his sisters, Lisa Buckley and her husband, Mike, and Paula Ryan and her husband, 4 
Christopher, his brother-in-law, Michael Derois, and his wife, Liz, and his nieces and nephews, 5 
Kate Buckley, Lauren Cole, Oliver Ryan, Jennifer Nicely, Jonathan Derois, and Jeremy Derois; 6 
now, therefore be it  7 
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest 8 
condolences on the passing of Deputy Fire Chief Roger E. Perreault; and be it further 9 
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to 10 
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Mrs. Dale Perreault and Family, and Mrs. 11 
Constance Perreault and Family.   12
