2121 It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
2222 SECTION 1. Chapter 23-17 of the General Laws entitled "Licensing of Healthcare 1
2323 Facilities" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
2424 23-17-12.12. Licensed healthcare facilities for abortions. 3
2525 (a) The licensed healthcare facilities that are used to perform abortions shall meet the same 4
2626 licensing requirements as other similar healthcare facilities. 5
2727 (b) All licensed healthcare facilities that are used to perform abortions shall be inspected 6
2828 yearly to ensure that they are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. 7
2929 (c) The department of health may conduct unannounced inspections of those licensed 8
3030 healthcare facilities that perform abortions. 9
3131 (d) Any inspection that reveals a licensing requirement deficiency shall result in the 10
3232 facilities having its license revoked. 11
3333 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 12

4848 unannounced inspections. Finally, it would require the licensed healthcare facilities, when their 3
4949 inspection uncovers deficiencies, to have their license revoked. 4
