RELATING TO MOTOR AN D OTHER VEHICLES -- SCHOOL BUS SPEED LIMITS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 31-14 of the General Laws entitled "Speed Restrictions" is hereby 1
amended by adding thereto the following section: 2
31-14-14. School bus speed limit. 3
No school bus, as defined in § 31-1-3, shall be operated, on a limited access highway, as 4
defined in § 31-1-23, at a speed greater than ten miles per hour (10 mph) less than the posted speed 5
limit. 6
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 7

This act would establish a speed limit for school buses being driven on a limited access 1
highway to ten miles per hour (10mph) less than the posted speed limit. 2
