2121 It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
2222 SECTION 1. Section 23-4.9-1 of the General Laws in Chapter 23-4.9 entitled "Retention 1
2323 of X-Rays" is hereby amended to read as follows: 2
2424 23-4.9-1. Retention of x-rays by health care providers. 3
2525 Every physician, surgeon, hospital, health maintenance organization, or any other health 4
2626 care facility or provider that takes a mammography x-ray of any individual within this state shall 5
2727 keep and maintain that mammography x-ray for the life of the individual. Provided, further, 6
2828 however, that any mammography x-ray may be destroyed if the individual has had no contact with 7
2929 the physician, surgeon, hospital, health maintenance organization, or other health care facility or 8
30-provider for a period exceeding fifteen (15) years period required by the United States Food and 9
31-Drug Administration. 10
