21	21		It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
22	22		SECTION 1. Section 23-4.9-1 of the General Laws in Chapter 23-4.9 entitled "Retention 1
23	23		of X-Rays" is hereby amended to read as follows: 2
24	24		23-4.9-1. Retention of x-rays by health care providers. 3
25	25		Every physician, surgeon, hospital, health maintenance organization, or any other health 4
26	26		care facility or provider that takes a mammography x-ray of any individual within this state shall 5
27	27		keep and maintain that mammography x-ray for the life of the individual. Provided, further, 6
28	28		however, that any mammography x-ray may be destroyed if the individual has had no contact with 7
29	29		the physician, surgeon, hospital, health maintenance organization, or other health care facility or 8
30		-	provider for a period exceeding fifteen (15) years period required by the ~~United States Food~~ and 9
31		-	~~Drug Administration~~. 10
